Sardegna Rally Race Stage 5
Two special to Cyril Despres, the final victory to Marc Coma
The Sardinia Rally Race is approved! The last day of the third round of the FIM World Championship ended in a double victory for the Franco-Andorran Cyril Despres (KTM 530). The winner of the “Dakar” 2010 has made a point of honor! “I did not move too much during the week (Up front left arm injury) but this morning, with Jordi Viladoms installed in the third place overall, the challenge was interesting,” admits Cyril on the finish line arrival. Worse, he finished third overall at 15 seconds of the second, the Italian Andrea Mancini, Husqvarna. For Marc Coma, leading from the first stage, the rally went off without a shadow of a cloud. “The result is there! He commented. The Sardinia Rally is a particular, very picky on the plan of the navigation. I made small mistakes, but they have not had a significant impact on the ranking. This rally is a set of tracks, and this is why the concentration is unlike the usual rallies.
After Coma, Italian Andrea Mancini performs the same performance as last year: “I did not initially make the rally as well! My pride is to have finish between the two strongest drivers in the discipline. I enjoyed this edition of Sardinia, the stages were longer. I’ve experienced one problem on my Husqvarna, at one of the fuel pump during the first stage. ”
A superb rally, appreciated by the special champions, with a punctilious navigation, a precise road-book, a professional organization. The competitors in this Sardegna Rally Race promised to return in 2011 for a 4th edition organized by Bike Village and Antonello Chiara and Gianrenzo Bazzu intend to make some innovations.
